Privacy policy

This page explains what care4u stores, why, and who can see it.

This text is a draft under review by legal counsel. It describes how the platform works today.

What is collected

The name, email address, phone number and profile picture you enter yourself; the contents of your conversations and their attachments; credential documents if you register as an advocate; and your order and payment history.

What it is used for

Running your account, showing your conversations and orders, verifying advocates, processing payments and holding then releasing them, and sending email about your own transactions.

Documents and storage

Files are stored in object storage under random keys rather than under your filename. Credential documents and order attachments are private and can only be opened through a signed link that lasts minutes and is issued after an ownership check.

Who can see it

The advocate you are talking to sees the conversation and the attachments you send them. The care4u team sees credential documents when reviewing the registration of an advocate, and sees order files only when a report is opened. The payment provider receives what it needs to process the transaction.

Cookies

care4u uses two httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in. Neither can be read by scripts in the browser and neither is used for advertising.

How long it is kept

Account data and transaction history are kept while the account is active and for as long as bookkeeping obligations require. Rejected credential documents are deleted once the review is finished.

Your rights

You can see and update your account details at any time on the account page. To request a copy of your data or its deletion, contact us at the address below.
